XBLI Trial Rundown - 6/25/09

Plows in HellPlows in Hell
While Plows in Hell looks nice and offers some impressive snow-melting fire, it could have used some more development time. The weapons are unimpressive and the audio soundscape is seriously lacking. The result is a game so devoid of feedback that the player is left empty. (200pts)

System OverrideSystem Override
If you can't tell by the box art, this is another one of those Simon rip-offs. Personally, Simon just stresses me out, but if you can't get enough of this color-matching nonsense, Bomb Disposal Expert is actually the better (slightly less terrible) game. (200pts)

Bop N PopBop N' Pop
You can't go two XBLI games without tripping over a puzzle game. It's a genre that's easy to code, but hard to conceptualize. Thankfully, good concepts aren't a concern for XBLI developers, and Bop N' Pop showcases this brilliantly.

Sky DefenderSky Defender
Sky Defender takes its inspiration from Space Invaders, so it plays like an archaic, three-decade old space shooter.
